Our toilets saved millions at the 2018 Commonwealth Games
by Richard Cave, Splashdown Group |Last year we were proud to announce that we hde won the contract to be the sole provider of waste and water solutions including portable toilets, to the 2018 Commonweath Games in Australia. Located near us on the sunny Gold Coast, we were excited to show Australia what has made the Splashdown Group the most successful global provider of portable toilets to major events and festivals across the globe.
And we did not disappoint.
Over a jam-packed 2 weeks, Splashdown was able to flawlessly meet the sanitation needs of over:
- 6,600 athletes
- 15,500 volunteers
- 1.2 million ticket holders
So thank-you Gold Coast for a wonderful 2018 Commonwealth Games. And we have some great news in return. By using the latest sustainable vacuum toilet systems in the world, we saved Gold Coast residents nearly FIVE MILLION litres of water across the lifetime of the event!
That's because our industry leading vacuum toilets save over 5 litres of water per flush, as well as being able to remove several cubic metres of air leaving a more refreshed experience for the next user.
As the global leader in providing portable toilets for events of all sizes, we are extremely proud to add the 2018 Commonwealth Games to our list of large events, which also includes the Glastonbury Festival, Reading Festival and PGA Tours around the world.
Thank-you again Gold Coast. We hope to see you at the next big event. In the meantime, don't forget to check out our toilet calculator to find out how many of our toilets you'll need for your next large event.
